A Week In Trailers

So another week has come and gone in the world of movies. Like every other week, many trailers for upcoming films were released. This week, the trailers are all mostly thriller or horror films. Most of which come out during September and October (just in time for Halloween of course). There's a romance and comedy thrown in there as well. We first have a trailer for the adaptation of "The Time Traveler's Wife" (which has been sitting on the shelf for a while). The film looks okay thanks to Rachel McAdams who keeps you somewhat interested in the ongoing story of a man who can time travel spontaneously. The film opens August 14, 2009. Next we have the trailer for the upcoming thriller "Whiteout" starring Kate Beckinsale. I don't know wether I like the trailer or not. The trailer seems a little cheesy, especially with the voice-over, but I somehow get the feeling that it may actually be good when it comes out September 11, 2009. From one thriller to another, we have the trailer for the remake of "The Stepfather" and it's rated PG-13. So expect it to be like the the remake of "Prom Night". However, this does look a little better, especially the last scene (plus, it has the very good looking actress, Amber Heard). The film opens October 16, 2009. Now comes a romantic comedy; "Love Happens" (which was formerly titled "Brand New Day"). The film stars Jennifer Aniston and the premise is the typical boy-meets-girl (vice-verse) and they fall in love. Maybe not a must see in theaters, but renting it should satisfy your need for a little romantic comedy. The film opens September 18, 2009. Next comes a film I am very excited to see, "2012"! Disaster movies are my weakness, but you have to admit, this one looks pretty cool. The film opens November 13, 2009. Now for a little indie film (somewhat). The film stars Paul Giamatti playing a character named Paul Giamatti. Um, okay? The film, "Cold Souls", seems interesting enough and opens in limited release August 7, 2009. Here's another random indie film, this time a horror film about vampires, which is the latest Hollywood obsession thanks to "Twilight". The film is titled "Thirst" (clever) and looks decent, but I've read it's suppose to be very bloody (+1. Some blood is even shown in the trailer). The film opens in limited release July 31, 2009. Finally for some horror and comedy mixed together. "Zombieland" is nothing more than the obvious: Zombies! The film stars Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenburg and Abigail Breslin and looks like every other funny zombie film, but with a better cast. The films opens October 9, 2009. And that wraps up this weeks trailers!
